Dr. Mark Kowal, DDS
Dr. Kowal, DDS was educated at the University of Maryland at College Park, where he received a B.S. in the biological sciences. He then attended the University of Maryland Dental School where he graduated in 1983. The University of Maryland Dental School has the distinction of being the world’s first dental school, as well as a leader in the field of periodontics.
Dr. Allen MacIlwaine, DDS
Dr. Macllwaine, DDS was born and raised in Waynesboro, VA. He received a B.A. in Biology from the University of Richmond, and pursued his dental education at the Medical College of Virginia, and graduated in 1983. MCV, of course, is one of the best known and most distinguished dental institutions in the southeastern U.S.
Dr. Ron Adleman, DDS
Dr. Ron Adleman is a native of Richmond, Virginia. He completed his University undergraduate education in Biology at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he received his Bachelor Of Science Degree. He also holds an Associate In Science Degree from Chowan College. Dr. Adleman attended the Medical College of Virginia / Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor Of Dental Surgery Degree in 1975. Dr. Adleman owned and operated his own private practice in Virginia for 31 years. He is currently on the part time Adjunct Clinical Faculty Department of General Practice at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where he enjoys teaching clinical skills to the dental students. Following their graduations from dental school, the doctors met at the East Carolina School of Medicine Post Graduate Dental Program. Completion of the advanced training regimen gave the doctors a level of training which is above the minimal required training that most dentists have. They studied under specialists in emergency medical treatment, as well as all of the dental specialties, excluding orthodontics. While in the program, Mark and Allen developed a close friendship that carried through into their decision to open a dental practice together.
